I grew up in Seattle listening to the battle of two local rock-n-roll AM stations, KJR and KOL. In 1960 I was a casualty of the folk scare, although I held on to my rock-n-roll roots thanks to the Beatles. I studied Radio-TV-Film at UT-Austin, where I ran a camera on early Austin City Limits shows. I hosted folk music and jazz shows in Grand Junction, Colorado, before returning to Seattle in 1991. KBCS has been my folk music home for 25 years.
I am now retired and spend my time enjoying the morning paper with an extra cup of coffee and ‘recreational’ music, playing in a band that performs at retirement and nursing homes.
Sandy hosts Sunday Folks , Sundays at 9am.
