Washington State Gun Rights Measures Initiative 591

Vote checkbox

November 4, 2014 - 11:56 am

The debate over school shootings and gun control laws heats up in the wake of the recent Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting that left two dead and three others injured. The young shooter, Jaylen Fryberg, took his own life.

Now Washington voters have a decision to make about gun laws in the state. The Washington Gun Rights Measure, Initiative 591 is on the November 4, 2014 ballot in the state of Washington as an Initiative to the Legislature. If approved by voters, the measure would prevent the government from confiscating firearms without due process and implementing background checks unless a federal standard is established.

KBCS News Director, Sonya Green interviewed Initiative 591 supporter Dave Workman.
