Renaud Garcia-Fons, performs Saturday, May 4th 2013, 7:30 pm at Seattle’s Town Hall in a special solo concert to benefit Hope Urban Farms.
Known to some as the “Paganini of the double bass”, Garcia-Fons calls forth sounds that transcend the instrument – sometimes a double bass, a cello, or a viola, sometimes an oud. From middle eastern influence to Persian, Kurdish, Flamenco, even Rock’n’Roll styles, Garcia-Fons is a rare virtuoso musician who combines impeccable technique with incredible heart and soul.
Hope Urban Farms is a project helping homeless people effectively leave homelessness behind. The project helps people start and run an organic, aquaponic garden in their own homes, generating both income through sale of high-value produce (such as rare herbs and vegetables) and providing sustainable, home-grown organic food for their own consumption.
